America is getting ready to turn 241 and it’s time to celebrate! Spend the holiday remembering what it means to be from the land of the brave and home of the free while enjoying yourself at Silver Dollar City or the Showboat Branson Belle. With America being an integral part of who we are, it’s important to honor her in the best way we know how. So, break out the red, white, and blue and get ready celebrate.
Begin the day of celebration at Silver Dollar City by taking a minute to stop and honor what the American Flag truly means. Gather in the Square and honor those who fought for the freedom we enjoy today during the flag raising ceremony. Then, join in as we sing The National Anthem and say the Pledge of Allegiance. Without the flag and those who fought to defend it, July 4th would be just another ordinary day.
America was built upon the back of hard work. From the potters at Hillcreek Pottery to the glass blowers at Hazel’s Blown Glass Factory, see the power of hard work come alive while admiring the beautiful, handcrafted pieces of art the craftsmen make. With over 100 demonstrating craftsmen on park, Silver Dollar city has been The Home of American Craftsmanship for nearly six decades. Enjoy watching the craftsmen work during daily demonstrations and take home a piece of their handcrafted work, a true American tradition.
Savor the foods our country was founded on with the best All-American food at Silver Dollar City. Enjoy the classic corn dog with mustard at Flossie’s Front Porch. Or head down to Lumbercamp for a true, char-grilled burger. Enjoy the sweet taste of freedom with a scoop of ice cream from Hannah’s Ice Cream Parlor or a funnel cake from Flossie’s Fried Fancies. Whatever food you decide to feast upon, it’ll have you singing, “Oh, say can you see!”
Country music is America’s music. So what better way to celebrate the day than with a with the all-new live concert and bbq lunch adventure Country On The Lake. Watch talented performers as they sing country classics and today’s current hits, then take a stroll around the top deck and enjoy just a few of the sights of this beautiful country that we are so fortunate to call home. During the show, also enjoy a three-course BBQ meal so delicious that it would make the Founding Fathers proud to be American all over again. Happy birthday, America, indeed.
*Please note that Silver Dollar City waits to have fireworks until Moonlight Madness, and therefore, will not have a fireworks show on the Fourth of July. To finish your day with a bang, be sure to watch one of the wonderful displays around town at Top of the Rock, Rockaway Beach or The City of Hollister.
